Opened in 2010, The William Street Bird (fondly referred to as ‘The Bird’) has been an institution for the arts and music scene for over 12 years.
A cultural hotspot for visitors to the city, the space is a vibrant, social hub that celebrates and welcomes; cultural, musical, artistic, racial, sexual, religious and age diversity.
Built on a strong sense of community, The Bird ethos is to provide a safe space for everyone who enters our walls and to enrich the lives of the whole community via a program of unique & diverse events.

The William Street Bird has been serving cold beer & good food since 2010.
Our menu is designed to complement the diverse range of our customers. focusing on beer & wine, but you can find a carefully selected range of spirits and cocktail offerings.
We're open 7 days a week, Our food menu from lucky's tuck shop is available 5 days a week!

LIVE MUSIC & EVENTS
Since opening as one of the city’s first small venues, 1000’s of emerging and well-established creatives have graced our stage. Our arts program focuses on alternative, underground and left of field music from local, national & international artists.
We host solo performers, bands & DJs 4-7 nights every week. We also embrace comedians, dancers, storytellers, theatre and visual artists. We facilitate live-online radio shows that broadcast to international stations to strengthen connections with our overseas neighbors.
Along with our arts program, we endeavor to support the creative scene by providing a stage and equipment for local organizations and community groups - such as APRA AMCOS, DCA, RTRFM to name a few - to hold presentations, seminars and events that foster knowledge and education within the arts sector.
