Knxwledge, real name Glen Boothe, was raised in New Jersey and Philadelphia where his musical genius was bred from days spent attending church and learning a plethora of instruments as part of the choir. He cites the gospel element as a strong influence on the unique pastiche of soul, jazz, and hip-hop that he has come to be known for on the L.A. beat scene. Now residing in Hollywood, Knxwledge stands out in a sea of producers as a prolific artist and self-proclaimed crate-digger, producing his sound by placing an emphasis on honesty in his music and staying true to what he set out to create.

Having started out by releasing remix and beat tape collections on Bandcamp in 2009, Knxwledge has gone on to produce for the likes of Joey Bada$$ on 1999 and most recently for hip-hop powerhouse Kendrick Lamar on To Pimp a Butterfly after Kendrick caught an earful of his 53 track retrospective compilation Anthology. He recently found a home on the Stones Throw roster, working closely with Mndsgn and with Anderson Paak in an R&B/hip-hop collaboration as NxWorries. His debut full length on Stones Throw, Hud Dreems, dropped back in May to widespread acclaim - leading to the likes of Pitchfork stating “Boothe isn’t here to blow up from one song; he’s looking to build a lasting legacy one beat at a time”.

So whether you’re a seasoned Knxwledge consumer or sent here by Kendrick, the LA producer’s knack for chopping classic hip hop breaks will be sure to surprise and delight you all at once. Prepare for the ultimate, seamless listening experience time after time.
